Gluten Free Cereal? Yes please!

We’ve all been there. Some nights you get home from a long day at work and you’re just too tired to cook. On nights like these my go-to solution is a big bowl of cereal.

There are now many more cereal options for people with gluten sensitivity. You may be thinking sure they have options, but are they edible? The answer is YES! Many of the big brand cereal companies are now jumping on the gluten free bandwagon.

Celiac sufferers have to be a bit more careful with cereal brands. Some brands that do not advertise as “Gluten Free” may contain trace amounts. If you are highly sensitive you will want to err on the side of caution and pick up a gluten free certified brand like Nature’s Path.

My needs are a bit less drastic so I can have brands that are gluten free, but may have come into contact with cross-contamination during production. Some of my favourite (not so healthy) cereal options include:

Gluten Free Chex (Original, Honey, Chocolate or Cinnamon)

Gluten Free Rice Krispies (Original or Chocolate)

Corn Flakes

These are all tasty brands that will give your hunger pains quick relief. Yeah, yeah. These aren’t the greatest for you nutritionally, but I’m a student what do you expect? Chop in a banana and strawberries to lessen that sugary guilt and eat up!

    • That’s great I hope it helps! Just remind them that my restrictions are a bit more lenient than someone diagnosed with celiac. They will want to double check the cereal that isn’t marked as gluten free to be safe.
